Slow Production

Obviously the school season is back in swing for most of us. I have started my second year at Ashland University and have taken a full schedule load.

The programmer has also began back to school and time his tight for him.

I originally stated that Korhold would be looking at a Beta in early September and going from there a possibly early to mid October release.

At the current time the likeliness of that happening are slim. In fact I think I could almost safely say that it will not happen.

I have searched, and searched, and searched and at the current time I cannot find artists that can work in my current budget, (which is basically non-existent). Believe me, I can completely understand, working for free is not as fulfilling as working for cash. I have presented some people with the idea of "in game" perks/donation items but none have taken the hook.

Now is just a bad time I would guess for anyone to be helping out though, it is the school season and everyone is busy.

As far as features in production at this moment -- "Battle Field" is currently being worked on by our "in house" programmer. I did commission another programmer to work on "Market Place" but he has yet to respond to my various Instant Messages, so I do not know the status of that. Also I had someone offer to do a layout, but they also are not responding. Things are just not working out.

Right now I think its best that I (as the owner) take a step back, re-evaluate where Korhold is currently at in the development process and see where it is headed, and if it can continue. While "closing the project" has crossed my thought process, it is not an avenue in which I wish to explore. Though with the lack of help and the like, as I have said its crossed my mind.

There isn't really anything else for me to say. As far as open positions...artists/artists/artists. I do have a couple of applications for writers, I haven't really given them anything to do as of yet, because there is nothing art wise for the site. If you are an artist and you want to be apart of the Korhold experience...and can work for free or for less than normal, please contact me. I have listed the email jobs@korhold.com, I have the email forwarded to my personal email so I check it every day.

Thanks for the support that I have received so far, especially Matt the programmer and I hope we can get this project back on track.

Regards,

David

Progress

Greetings --

Thought I would pass a long a bit of news.

Training, for the most part has been completed and has been tested and seems to be functioning properly. Now its a very basic system as of now, later on down the road there may be tweaks made, but for right now, simple is good.

Hmm..what's this?

When you select a stat to train, and submit...it appears the trainer will not allow you in...

No Payment!

I'm sorry, but it appears you don't have anything to pay me with.

Don't give me that look!

KSC is worth nothing!

It's value could go down anytime! I require something more....time enduring...

If you wish to train, you will have to figure out what the master wants, because obviously he does not accept the universal currency; KSC (Korhold Standard Coin)

Also I thought I would mention that the "user controlled" country system and election system will not be functional at the time of the sites opening. After much discussion with the programmer we feel that the game needs to get on its feet first before we implement such a system. However there will be some snippets of reading posted on each countries home page section that will give a rundown of how it all will work at some point before the feature will be implemented. (Isn't that nice..information before hand haha.)

That is about all for now, check my signature for details on open positions for Korhold, many are still open. Even if you just have some questions, there are various ways to contact me. AIM, MSN, email: jobs@korhold.com, whichever you wish.

Regards,

Silverado

Farms

Well the farms are as done as they can get by now. You can buy land, sell land, buy animals and plants and water them. Animals die after 3 days and plants die after 4. Animals cost 2 KSC while plants cost 1 KSC. It costs 1 KSC to water or feed one plant or animal. As of yet, as your plants and animals age nothing happens however once I'm done with my next project, the cellar, I'll add a few more lines of code and after a few days the grown crops or meat will be deposited in your cellar. Feel Free to test the farms and report any bugs or suggestions. Although note, the layout for the farms is not complete yet.

Farms Testing

You can now Buy/Sell land! You can also view statistics involving the selling and buying of land. I'll make a board on the bugs section of the forum for everyone to post bugs in, which hopefully no one will find.

Keep a few things in mind
-When selling land, you only get the base amount of money back, not what you paid for tax.
-You have a daily land quota that you can buy each day, if you want greater ability to mess with it, send me a message and I'll edit your countries quota.
-If you need more rubies, message me.
-The layout for selling and buying land is not done, so it doesn't look very nice.

Update

Things have been moving a bit slow. Our programmer has been ill and is now back to his post working hard, and I have just been busy in general, but the site is still moving a long.

From what I am told you should be able to test the buy/sell features of Farming on Friday or right around that time.

Also there was an addition made to the site, though I can't really say what it was for TOS issues, but I'm sure you can figure that out.

We will keep you informed. Thanks for your patience and support!

Current Project

Just thought I would mention that as of yesterday the "Farming" feature has undergone a complete re-code and should be available for testing in the coming days.

ID Setup

Ok any section of the site (excluding forums) that linked by username, should now link by ID. If we have missed one let us know.

According to the programmer we basically need to re-code the forums to get them to read ID's instead of users. So for the time being that should be the only section that we knowingly skipped.

Progress is being made, strap on your seatbelts.
